944 Magazine has picked me as one of 10 San Diego Trailblazers this year - they must have been desperate (Joke). Click here to check out the Fashionably San Diego shout out and see my favorite spots in San Diego.
The first Fashionably San Diego event was a success! Located on the second floor of Bloomingdale's Fashion Valley, the non-stop rotating runway encouraged mingling and shopping while working the models like they never have before. I honestly don't believe models have ever "walked" that hard before. Did you catch my pun?
The fruity martinis were strongly delicious and the mushroom sandwiches were divine! The vegetarians were raving. But of course it was the fashions that were the focus - if ya don't mind my saying. The outfits I chose were to embody spring styles fit for San Diegans; whether you are dining with friends, walking around Balboa Park or heading to a cocktail party. I had legging pants on the "catwalk", breezy blazers, short shorts, billowy silk tanks and sexified style for the ladies. For the men, I had a tan suit, light-weight everything, sweaters, casual blazers and street wear with flare.
I loved overhearing everyone loving the choices and knowing that they could work them into their own lives.
"Where can I find that yellow sweater, I want to get that for Tony."
"I want that blazer and shorts look."
I didn't want the response to be, "Oh, how beautiful- when would I ever
wear that?" Instead I wanted to show outfits that were uniquely stylish, but still appropriate for your lifestyle in America's finest city. I am so happy with the result. Mixing high-end and more affordable brands have never looked so good. From Aqua to Prada, the show was a smash.
Although I am not sure if the repetition was beloved by all. If you were an attendee please let me know your thoughts by commenting below. Cheers!
For the first time in San Diego a major department store teams with a blog to bring you a Spring 2010 fashion show. Be there for this cutting edge event as Bloomingdale's let's a blogger choose the trends.
Every fashion consultant, style book or magazine will tell you that statement jewelry is the easiest and least expensive way to modernize your look, dress up your look or just stand out. Pictured below are photographs from a recent photo shoot I styled for San Diego photographer Rebecca Wilson. We decided to really take this advice to heart and have a Tee party with some of San Diego's hottest jewelry designers like Micha Kuechenhoff, Miriam Chor Freitas, Gordana and C.linea.
This month you will be able to catch my styling work in San Diego Magazine. I styled the cover shot and spread on hot new restaurants using fabulous locally designed jewelry from Design By Micha, and clothing from Banana Republic and Neiman Marcus. I must say ladies if you have not checked out the Banana Republic shoe selection you are missing out. As for the fella, the clothes are stylishly conservative and the fits are amazing. Now, for my favorite look of the shoot, I would have to say the blue toned Gucci dress on the cover. It says, "I am on holiday and I am ever so chic." Although that long sleeve Diane Von Furstenberg top in the last picture is quite fabulous...
Laura Gambucci boutique in La Jolla is the number one cutting edge boutique in San Diego. With a focus on high-end and European designers, this is the boutique to go to if you are craving that quality, cutting edge look of designers, celebrities and lovers of incredible taste. Recently I pulled some die-for coats from Laura Gambucci for a photo shoot tilted, "A Fresh Coat."
