High Fashion Heels Under Four Inches

Too High!

I don’t feel comfortable wearing 5-inch heels. I don’t feel comfortable wearing four-inch heels. I find this to be very unnatural for my foot. It makes me walk slow. It makes me look ill at ease, it makes my feet hurt and sometimes blister. My feet are scarred from spending mere minutes in shoes. If I hear Rachel Zoe talk about 5-inch heels as a must-have again I will push her over. It won’t take much since she will be wearing awkward shoes.

You know what the perfect height for a fabulous pair of shoes is? Three and a half inches. At three inches you can look quite a bit taller, feel sexy and still get things done quickly and in a graceful manner. Do you know how hard it is to find a 3.5 heel in a high fashion shoe?

If you have been looking I am sure you know that it is very difficult. This blog is a letter of grievance to stylish shoe designers everywhere, both high-end and low end. I am talking to Steve Madden, Charlotte Russe, Prada and more. Quit the four and five inch heels unless you have an inch or more platform going on. It is ruining women’s feet and making them look dolty. I am officially fed up.

Now to more pro-active actions on the topic. Here are some 3.5-inch or lower heels that also embody awesome style. This interesting brown striped heel by Glory Chen with a mixture of leather and linen has a modest heel that can work for day or night. Yea comfort!

These Daniblack heels are different with their scalloped edge and patent leather pink finish. At 3 inches I am in.

These Bandolinos are adorable with the lace décor and 3 1/4 inch heels.

How crazy are these shoes? J. Renee heels are designed for the style-savvy woman who wants a fashionable shoe with an amazing feel. I haven’t tried them, but with that out there look and that 3-inch heel I might give it a whirl.

This Apepazza wedge is so hot! At 2 3/4 inches I won’t even notice I am wearing a heel.

Talk about high fashion, these Proenza Schouler kicks are to die for at 3 inches.

Guess Makes A Python Cuff Watch

Guess may not a be a hot brand right now, but that doesn't mean you should pass them up when browsing the mall. One item worth looking into is the python watch that looks more like a cuff than a time piece. A stylish item with a utilitarian purpose always says fabulosity to me. Throw in some python print and I am a happy puppy.

Statement Jewelry Dresses Up A T-Shirt

Every fashion consultant, style book or magazine will tell you that statement jewelry is the easiest and least expensive way to modernize your look, dress up your look or just stand out. Hot Fashion Trends For Spring 2010

To get you started for this fabulous year of style, I’ll let you in on some 2010 fashion trends relevant to your lifestyle.

Unexpected Leather: You are going to need a leather pencil skirt or dress by the time this year is up. From Kate Moss in Prada to Victoria Beckham in pink, unexpected leather will be a edgy addition to your look.

Hat-Pin: Lena Hoschek and Jason Wu were just a few of the designers that sent small headgear down the runway for 2010. And with so many artisans creating these fabulous teeny tiny head adornments, 2010 is going to love the hatpin, hair clips, and little hats sitting atop your noggin. Fashionable folk loving it? Rihanna and Audrey Tautou.

Color: There is no limit! Black, grey, yellow, coral, blue. There will never be a better time to shop the rainbow then this year. There is no “it” color, there are no no-nos. Every designer and store will be showing all of it. Red, green, highlighter yellow, purple, you name it you can wear it and look in style. The only requirement this year is diversity. You have to mix it up and be sure your closet is full of all the hues– obviously in the tones that compliment your skin.

Show Me That Waist!: Whether it be a modern midriff top, a belt or a band emphasizing the indent, the waist is on display this year. Jason Wu, Willow, Louis Vuitton, Thakoon and Twenty8Twelve are just a drop of the designers that will be selling you waist emphasis. Dresses and skirt with waist emphasis flatters everyone with any sort of a waist. As for the midriff tops? Be positive you have some flat abs and no muffin before embracing this trend.

As with any popular clothing ideas, keeping your own sense of style is key. When incorporating new looks to your wardrobe, you must always ask yourself if you are comfortable but make sure your comfort doesn’t border on boring. Discovering your inner style child and spicing up your look is essential for this new year of twenty-ten.

San Diego Magazine Cover Shoot

Last month I styled a photo shoot for San Diego Magazine's Cover spread on hot new restaurants. I used fabulous jewelry from Design By Micha, and clothing from Banana Republic and Neiman Marcus. I must say ladies if you have not checked out the Banana Republic shoe collection you are missing out. As for the fella, next time you are getting a gift for your man consider the BR. The clothes are stylishly conservative and the fits are amazing. As for my favorite look of the shoot, I would have to say the blue toned Gucci dress on the cover. It says, "I am on holiday and I am ever so chic." Although that long sleeve Diane Von Furstenberg top in the last picture is quite fabulous...

Where Should I Hem My Pants

 

I need to have a talk with you ladies that are either not hemming their pants or hemming your pants improperly. To the women not hemming your pants, I know that it takes time & money to get your pants hemmed, but if they are dragging on the ground getting ruined or just not being worn then what is the point of owning such pants?

Now for the ladies that are hemming them too long. Does your pants look like the pictures above? Stop hiding your fabulous shoes underneath your pants legs.

I want to put an end to a fashion rule right now. You know the advice get two pairs of the same pants and hem one for flats and one for heels. You actually don't need to do that. Here is where you should hem your pants:

Wash the pants you are about to hem to ensure they won't shrink after being hemmed. Then take them to the tailor and put the pants on without shoes. Tell her/him to hem them comfortably to the floor. For instance you want the jeans to hit the floor when you are not wearing shoes. At this length you are able to wear your pants with heels as well as flats. Pictured below you will see the same pants paired with flats and heels.

  

 

The only exception to this advice is closed-toe boots. Your jeans or pants do need to be hemmed a bit longer to create a longer look. Otherwise longer doesn't mean you will look taller or thinner, it will just look longer and sometimes make you look shorter.
