Patricia Field and Darren Star are at it again with Cashmere Mafia. Without even knowing who is involved behind the scenes you can see immediately in the first episode that the show is a grown up Sex In The City. Patricia’s flare is apparent with the unconventional use of color and details as well as the constant use of belts and interesting, sometimes chunky, shoes. Which, by the way, has a huge role in the Sex In The City movie.

As far as the actual content of the show goes, I enjoyed most of it. That means a lot coming from me considering I’m not into any of the actresses with the exception of Miranda Otto. It kept me intrigued with the jammed pack plot and constant cutting. This is a good idea for a first episode, but will most likely ease up once they have secured the audience’s hearts.
I must say though I wasn’t into the lesbian story line. It just seemed a little weird to throw that internal struggle and unrealistic kiss in there. If they wanted a lesbian for a character they should have started with her already being one.
